Manhole maintenance at Sime Darby Property focused on clearing accumulated sludge, sediment, and debris to support smooth wastewater flow. The work involved cleaning accessible manholes and checking their condition to identify issues requiring further attention.

Challenges

Accumulated deposits can restrict wastewater flow and make inspection difficult. Working within an active property also requires careful coordination, secure work areas, and measures to minimise disruption to students, staff, and daily activities.

Solutions

A coordinated maintenance approach combined the removal of accumulated waste with cleaning of the manholes and connected drainage passages where required. Work areas were secured during servicing, and post-cleaning checks helped assess flow conditions and identify any further maintenance needs.
